Our Creative Challenge
Create a warm, intimate and unusual tasting room & event space within a building primarily used for wine production and oak barrel wine fermentation.
Our Approach
Create a tasting room as a homage to Ryan Crane’s winemaking & vineyard in Walla Walla. Old wine barrels from the vineyard are deconstructed for reuse throughout the space. The exploding wine barrel wall, conceived by architect Loren Supp, is comprised of wine-stained wood staves forming an array of spiraling arcs along the wall's length. This feature wall leads to the barrel fermentation area behind a glass garage door. Other vineyards materials, stainless steel and reclaimed doug fir, form the tasting bar. Simple lights are crafted from metal wine barrel straps and an Edison lamps.
